Gegege no Kitarou (2018)

Nearly two decades into the 21st century, most people have dismissed youkai as relics of old stories. Then unexplained incidents begin spreading through the human world, bringing strange phenomena and beings that modern society has forgotten how to recognize.

Looking for answers, 13-year-old Mana Inuyama sends a message to the mysterious Youkai Post and meets Kitaro, a boy who stands between humans and the supernatural. Alongside his tiny father Medama-Oyaji and a colorful group of allies, Kitaro steps in whenever contact between the two worlds becomes dangerous. As Mana is drawn deeper into these cases, she discovers that the beings humans forgot never disappeared, and that monsters are not always the ones who look inhuman.
