Haruka, Makoto, Nagisa, and Rei return to the pool with stronger bonds, but graduation is approaching and the future no longer feels distant. Rin has finally committed himself to becoming a professional swimmer, while Haruka and Makoto struggle to decide what they want after high school.

The arrival of Rin's old friend Sousuke Yamazaki at Samezuka brings another powerful swimmer and old tensions into their lives. As Iwatobi and Samezuka pursue new goals in competition, each swimmer must decide whether the path ahead is defined by the water they love, the friends beside them, or something they have yet to discover.
