Satoshi turns 10 and is finally ready to begin his journey as a Pokémon Trainer, only to arrive late and discover that every standard starter has already been claimed. The only partner left is Pikachu, a stubborn Electric-type Pokémon that refuses to obey him or even stay inside its ball. Their relationship begins in constant conflict, until a real crisis creates the trust that will carry them across countless towns and regions. Alongside Kasumi and Takeshi, Satoshi collects Gym Badges and challenges powerful Trainers while the Team Rocket trio repeatedly tries to steal Pikachu. From the beginning, his goal is simple to say and far harder to achieve: become a Pokémon Master.
