Berserk: Ougon Jidai-hen I - Haou no Tamago

Guts survives as a lone mercenary, carrying an enormous sword and trusting little beyond his own strength. After catching the attention of Griffith, the charismatic commander of the Band of the Hawk, Guts rejects an invitation to join and settles the matter with a duel. His defeat binds him to Griffith's band and gives his wandering life a direction he never expected.

As the Hawks rise through Midland's long war against Tudor, Guts becomes one of their most formidable commanders and grows closer to both Griffith and Casca. Yet Griffith's dream reaches far beyond battlefield glory, and the strange crimson Behelit he carries hints that the Hawks' ascent may demand a price none of them understands.
