Grand Blue

Iori Kitahara moves to the seaside town of Izu for university and stays above his uncle’s diving shop, imagining a calm, ideal college life near the ocean. That picture collapses almost immediately when he discovers the diving club is filled with loud upperclassmen who treat parties and ridiculous dares as part of the daily schedule.

Iori is dragged into their chaos despite his resistance, and matters get worse when his cousin Chisa repeatedly catches him at his most embarrassing. Beneath all the comedy, however, he begins genuinely learning to dive and discovers the beauty of the sea that brought this strange group together. College life is nothing like his plan, but it may be better for it.
