Nige Jouzu no Wakagimi

In 1333, the Kamakura shogunate collapses after Ashikaga Takauji turns against it, leaving eight-year-old Hojo Tokiyuki as the surviving heir of a slaughtered clan. Tokiyuki has little talent for the sword or bow, but he possesses one extraordinary gift that once seemed useless: almost nobody can catch him when he runs.

The enigmatic priest Yorishige Suwa rescues him and insists that his life is far from over, foretelling that the fugitive boy will one day become a great hero. Surrounded by new allies and relentless pursuers, Tokiyuki turns his childhood talent for hide-and-seek into a weapon for survival and begins the long road toward reclaiming what was taken from him.
