At dusk, the masked storyteller returns to his familiar street corner, but this time a silent group of young girls gathers to hear the paper-theater tales. One after another, ordinary homes, school routes, family relationships, and harmless habits become entrances to things that should not exist.

A housewife is tormented by chilling phone calls, a girl's flower predictions prove disturbingly accurate, and a mother and daughter meet the ominous Crow Woman. Each story begins close to everyday Japanese life before one small wrongness grows impossible to ignore, leaving the listeners with the uneasy feeling that the final picture may not stay inside the storyteller's box.
