As night falls, the paper-theater storyteller returns with short tales that need no enormous monsters to create fear. A familiar room, a lonely road, an old habit, or something that appears completely ordinary can conceal a presence that was never meant to be there.

Each story opens a different door into Japanese horror and urban legend, using the simple kamishibai-inspired style to leave room for what is never fully shown. The people caught in these encounters rarely know when they have crossed the point of no return, and often understand what they are facing only when it is already too late.
